I only stoped here for coffee and food, so I don't have an oppinion about the rooms. The location is nice, with view over the river. Food is OK, I will clasify it as common local Norwegian cafe-menu. It's nice atmosphere, with many customers, both locals who have their sunday diner there and car-tourists. Great food & service, totally awesome. Had a very nice time staying in one of the family huts. Ate in the cafeteria a few times, good selection, child friendly. We bathes at the beach, rented a boat and went fishing. Had a relaxing mini holiday. Great location close to Kongsvinger, but unfortunately located next to a main road. However the facilites are situated well away from the road so no problem with kids. We have been here a few times and will come back for meals, day trips and weekend visits. Great place. We only stayed one night but we were super happy overall. I don't usually write reviews but after visiting Sanngrund I decided to write a review... I stayed in one of the cabins in September 2014. The cabin was lovely, large and a good price. The view from the porch of the water reflecting the landscape was beautiful. The room was very clean. I was worried it would be difficult to find traveling from Oslo but the location is easy to find. I ate at the restaurant multiple times during my stay. I was very impressed with the food. I think it was some of the best food I've ever had. I loved the meatballs and potatoes but they also had many other foods to choose from. They also had some delicious deserts that went nicely with a coffee. I will come back in the future, thank you!
