Enjoyed my hour+ here strolling thru the collections. I was most impressed by the "Balenciaga x Demna" dialogue -- intriguing to see their work side by side and connect the inspiration Demna took from Balenciaga. Stopping at the was a excuse to also check out the town of Getaria. Super cool and historical account of Balenciaga's life and fashions. Never knew he was so revered. architecture. The could be better A must visit for those interested in fashion. Large exhibition dedicated to one of Getaria’s most famous citizens (probably only second to Elcano) and his creations. He was a person who revolutionized haute-couture and this is well-captured by the curation. It is particularly interesting to see his passion for elegance and innovation in contrast to today’s Balenciaga brand essence and positioning. A nice overview of the life and art of C balenciaga Un musée magnifique. Une très belle rétrospective. Ça vaut vraiment la peine de s'y arrêter. Superb exhibiting the progression and works of the high designer Crisóbal Balenciaga. The is very modern and well laid out over 2 floors with very good access for people in wheelchairs. The exhibits are well presented and explained. Well worth a visit. Spend the day at this and around the beautiful port town. Balenciaga was from quite a magical place and the is definitely worth the trip. I loved it. Hugely disappointed Terrible building , rude telephone customer service . Exhibits beautiful but unless you have perfect eyesight very difficult to view clearly , not enough digital interaction to compensate for the low light , the exhibits are all static and much is lost in their extended beauty. Don't make to an effort to attend , better to catch a Balenciaga elsewhere . Madrid 2019 had an exhibition that was incredible . If driving go in low season as there little parking , aim for the port. I am not a man of fashion. And I knew next to nothing about Cristobal Balenciaga. But I loved it. It is contained and can be experience in 60-90 minutes. The building itself is wonderful. The way you move through the is really well done. They had a moving exhibition about the conversations between Balenciaga & Chillida. Stunning insights. And the dark, spotlight setting made in profound and moving. The store had a lot of fun things. Worth the trip to Getaria to see the then walk the old part of the city near the sea. The was Fabulous, This Is Where Creativity was Born in the First Place, Recommend this for Spring 2026 and Definetly Coming back with Someone in love with Next Year. I have LOVED this museum. It was a Saturday afternoon and was surprisingly not very crowded, which was perfect for a calm and detailed visit. The current are very interesting. The main one is about Balenciaga’s designs and innovation, the se one one about his relationship with basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida, and the third one about the frangeances. I wish I could have known in advance that the temperature in the rooms with the clothes would be so low, and I would have better prepared myself. It was crazy cold! Also, the final about perfumes is very interesting to see, but there are only a few fragrances that you can smell. It would have been amazing to have the possibility of smelling way more fragrances. Toilets are located before entering the exhibit, and at the end of the sixth room. Lockers are provided before entering the exhibit. shop is small but nicely merchandised. Small, but very interesting. Some interactive option. A lot of example. A museum. It's a very big in a very small town. Looks very professional, Ioved the design. I am not a fan of brands, but this was designed and built to show the best condition of Balenciaga's history and design. It's worth visiting! We visited with my wife and our son, who loves art, and we were all impressed. The beautifully showcases Balenciaga’s creativity and craftsmanship. The building itself is stunning, and the exhibits are thoughtfully curated. A stop for anyone interested in fashion, design, or art. Je recommande The Balenciaga in Getaria is an absolute highlight, especially for admirers of designers. The concept is perfectly thought out, the exhibits are magnificent, and the overall experience is truly exceptional. Each piece on display reflects craftsmanship, elegance, and timeless design. The masterfully combines art, history, and in a way that’s both inspiring and memorable. A wonderful experience and an absolute must-see for anyone who loves fashion. I loved it! It had a nice balance of history and clothes. I loved the way that it was built into the old house of Balenciaga. The dresses were also very pretty 😊 i feel like the perfumes and cosmetics were also a nice touch, will go again! Depending on where you are traveling from the experience can seem different to you. If you compare it to exhibits in New York, it pales in comparison. For a small town it’s fine but number and choice of the pieces is disappointing compared to the wealth of pieces he produced. Reduced a few starts in review due to rude staff. As we were buying items from the store the cashier said to choose the t-shirt size and while we were doing that she closed the store and said she can’t sell anything to us (this was well before closure at 14:45). In any case, it’s not worth a stop if you are exploring north of Basque Country unless you are going specifically to see this for a check. Es una visita obligatoria si te gusta la historia de la moda. Muchos datos sobre el modista y buenas explicaciones de su obre exposition in every way, from the history behind the pieces to how they are presented. Note for logo chasers: gift shop does not have anything Balenciaga branded! It's either Balenciaga brand or other brands altogether. Excellent! Well done and explicit exposition about Cristobal Balenciaga story and clothes, the people that work there are so nice and patient, I came with the whole family, grandchild included and they were nice and patient, even though I recommend that if you are a designer or enthusiast you should come alone… there’s a lot to watch and see ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nice museum, architecture Absolute nightmare to find a parking lot. Drove around more than 30 minutes before finding a slot that we thought is fine. We were in the for less than an hour and got a ticket for 50€, if we don’t pay fast 100€. So if you only can go there by car, rather don’t. Holds for the whole city unfortunately.
