Absolutely beautiful, are spectacular, you can see Wales, Gloucestershire,and Hereford on a clear day. If you like walking, take the ridge way, you can walk to Avebury, stop off for lunch. Located on part the Ridegeway Barbary Castle is an Ancient Iron Age Hill Fort set in 12 Acres. Wonderful walking. Great for picnics and Kite flying. You can walk for miles in all directions. Good parking, toilet facilities in car park. Beautiful spot with amazing over the countryside. Great for walks, picnics, and dog-friendly too. Peaceful, free parking, and full of history a lovely place to unwind near Swindon. Lovely place for a wander. Great all around especially from the hill fort as you would expect. Easy accessible, roads in and out are good. Plenty of free parking. Quite popular with dog walkers. Public toilets available near parking, but not well managed. Good walk and picnic area. The walk around the outer circuit is around 1.1 mile. Good of green grassy meadows and yellow rapeseed fields. The only downside is filthy toilets beware of using them. It is good spot to spend lazy afternoons on a sunny day. Wonderful and great for dogs. I've never seen the toilets open but plenty of bins as well as benches for picnics. The field by the car park is sometimes used for grazing sheep so bring a lead! It does get very windy but it's a lovely place. Amazing view very atmospheric and quite and a great place for hiking and picnic Just visited for a lovely walk and picnic lunch. Very few people up there so quiet and relaxing. Beautiful of the surrounding countryside.
