The grilled with chimichurri and salad was fairly good but nothing special to repeat it. It also had too little salad in my opinion. But the was tender and tasted fresh. Overall going there and catching your own can be a experience to remember although I am sure there is nothing outstanding from the culinary standpoint What a different day out with kids. £49.9 gets a of four a day ticket with a 1kg bag of food. You can feed the as well ducks, it's got a play park, a your own as well as a BBQ to grill your freshly fished trout. All in all it did cost us 4 adults and 3 the better part of £300 but totally it! A place for lunch or a scone while enjoying what might be one of England's prettiest villages. I considered going to Bibury to see the collection of old trouts, grumpy old women who scowl and shake their fists at young people as they go about their business. I was wrong. It wasn't that sort of trout. It was the fishy type. Why anyone would part with nine quidlies to see being herded by sheep .....er... dogs as they get bigger is beyond me. It's not as if you can become attached to a trout, unless it involves a squeeze of lemon and a knife and fork. If you've seen one it's a pretty safe bet that you've seen 'em all. I was also slightly concerned that if I'd entered the there may be the odd wild masquerading as tame whilst hiding with a concealed weapon to pounce on me with a view to mugging. Not the risk. As a travel sick person I really enjoyed even the 2.5h travel from staff, tryouts, ducks, facilities, park, plants, to the breathtaking scenery was it. My caught 8 which was fun but expensive. The staff went above & beyond. We (husband & daughter) cooked it so well that spectators realised they were chef. Fun, welcoming and definitely something for everyone. The only thing that I was not a fan was that they don't have indoor seating, maybe because it is a cafe on a farm, which is understandable, but when we visited Bibury the weather was chilly so I would have preferred if there was indoor seating. Very friendly and helpful staff, beautiful setting Serene environment, stream of water so crystal clear with fishes having a time in it☺️ Should you get to park here, it’s gonna cost £8 for the whole day (pay & display) and it’s card only no cash. The whole environment just presents this mental calmness. I tried as much as possible to get here as early as possible to avoid it being crowded, but to my surprise, the whole place was packed with people as at 10am 😳 I couldn’t believe my eyes. At this point, I guess anyone that’ll wanna should just go when convenient. We loved the experience of catching our own and cooking on site, the staff were excellent in offering assistance and explaining everything about cleaning the fish. We can’t wait for our next visit!
