It was one of the highlights during my trip on Cyprus. We went there during their festival day - first of October in 2023. Everyone was very welcoming, warm and friendly. Real, proud locals. We could try sweets, wine, syrups, honey, pudding, fried meet balls, bread, fruits. Everything was yummy. We also saw how they used to make pumpkin objects. Rural hosts authentic goods of Cyprus culture. It is such a cost museum. The coffee shop is the bonus. Sitting next to the museum, sipping your coffee in the pastoral atmosphere of the village is indescribable. One of the most beautifly old villages in Cyprus. It's not very inhabited and many of the old houses are in ruins but the romance of that era really shines through. The small houses really capture how people lived not too long ago and really tightens the essence of a community. Lovely little cafe in the centre and a small restaurant do pre book these places. Would definitely return and can't wait to do som A small and interesting in an old special vilage. The hosting is very nice and welcoming. Very worth visit Beautiful of traditional architecture and Cypriot life from previous centuries. Our guide needed a translator from Cypriot to English, but we had that ability within our group. Situated in the beautiful but now mostly deserted village of Fikardou, this shows how life was lived here until the 1950s. A helpful guide gave us context and explanation. I was fascinated by seeing a lost way of life. Old village laying in the middle of the green mountains. Ancient houses, a church, and a small maze of narrow streets - good place to see how the life used to look on Cyprus 100 years ago. Restaurant in the center serves food and wine to visitors. It was really busy, not much space to park your car. It takes about 20 minutes to walk around. A beautiful village and good for tourists. Has lots of history exhibited and in it's original form. Great experience.
