The is amazing, it’s worth for the 5200 steps my watch marked from the parking but the trail is not in great condition, I would prefer to pay a ticket but to have more security with the handrails. The worst thing was the road from the highway to the parking and viceverse. There are sections with no place to park and let pass the car from the other side… a nightmare No entrance fee it's free. It's about an hour hike up to the top of the and an hour down. A hiking stick will be a good idea if you're elderly. Any age can do it. Take with you water you'll need it. I wouldn't do it in the summer season. There's no shade. The is breathtaking. It's worth seeing. Buffavento isn't just a historical site; it's a test of grit. The hike up is steep and challenging, with around 600 uneven steps, but reaching the top feels like a personal victory. The panoramic views of the Kyrenia mountain range and the Mediterranean are absolutely worth the effort. The ruins exude a raw, ancient energy. Despite the wear of time, the remaining structures stand as a testament to history. It's a place that makes you feel connected to the past. Very cool ruins (free). Parking accessible via paved but very narrow mountain road. It's a ~1km climb uphill to reach the gates and then another 0.4km to the very top. Overall ~150m elevation. Great views of both Girne and Nicosia from the top. The Buffavento was part of the protection of the passages from one side of Cyprus to the other between the mountains, and is located between two other beautiful castles, the St. Hilarion and the Kantara Castle. It's an really old ruin, and the already was abandoned in the 14th century, but build in the byzantine era. The trail from the parking lot until the it's really easy and doesn't take you so much time. The is wonderful, you can see in one side the sea and in the other Nicosia and other cities. But the best is the to the mountains! The is build upon a precipice, that give you an amazing feeling!!! It's a great walking trail. Great from the top. Don't go mid-day during summer. There is no shop in a 10km, make sure to bring water. My 6 years old kid managed to climb it. It’s beautiful place, and we have to visit it one time in your life, you can see the sea from the palace. I don’t advice this journey for elder people or children. It’s little dangerous, long and high stairs. And it could be better if taking car of it. The most amazing location. Heaven on earth. The from the top is breath taking. incredible castle. No tourists- very relaxing and quiet. However- some level of fitness is required to walk upto the castle. 1000+ steps- makes it even better. Thoroughly enjoyed. The highlight of my entire trip. Ladies & Gentleman. FANTASTIC place on the top!!! Always open. Entry free. road up was very hard, but the panorama and the old buildings the still mirror of the historical times. I love this place!!! I really like from up the u can see all nicosia and even the greek side of it and you can see girne fron the other side and I've visited the 5 times now but be careful while going up because it's windy sometimes. I'll some pictures that I got from there u can see them Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
