Being a student at Near East University has its perks, especially with the Cyprus Car right on campus! It's a fantastic place to spend an afternoon checking out over 150 vehicles, from early 1900s classics to modern beauties. One of the coolest things they have is a 1901 Crest Mobile, apparently the only one left in the world! They also have a neat display of plane models and sculptures alongside the cars. So whether you're a car enthusiast or just curious about transportation history, it's definitely worth a visit. It was very nice of the man at the desk to allow me free entry because I was a student. However about 30 mins into my visit the other member of staff started ushering me towards the exit, I told him I still had more to see and he told me he had to switch the lights off in this area. When asked if the was closing (it was coming up to 2pm) he said “no but you can’t stay for hours and hours, you can come every day but you can’t stay for hours and hours and hours.” At this point I’d only been at the for 35 mins. Being the only person in the I think he just wanted me out so he could take a seat and do nothing all day. A should allow a person to take in everything on display no matter how long it takes. The staff were great and we had a chat about the cars. As we were some of the only customers felt like we had a real person service without it feeling overbearing. It's not that surprising considering that there is a car in the Near East University of Northern Cyprus. I would say that visiting the would take more than a day to really understand everything inside. Visiting once was not enough to just walk around.
