Good market. Shame the Hall wasn't open. I think the opening times are very limited. We enjoyed walking around the extensive too. Nice Victorian Kitchen Garden and a beautiful lake. Interesting tour of the house ,very knowledgeable guide. Nice Fascinating guided tour of the hall. Very interesting. Pleasant grounds to have a wander around. We only saw the gardens. My wife wanted to photograph our son amongst the bluebells (I'd recommend a sling, not a pram for this). It's only a relatively small garden but very pretty, with a lake and some interesting buildings and features plus some nice 'twig art' spread around. We also ate in the tea room which was acceptable quality food for the price (though nothing to write home about). The hall itself looks like a big house. You could see people still live in it by the cars and by looking through the windows. It looked "lived in". We didn't do the guided tour so I can't say much more. We went for the Snowdrop walks, which were for a month ending on 28/02/25. It was a delight to see & we had a lovely, sunny day to enjoy it all. Do go next year👍☺️ Absolutely brilliant tour of the house and walk round the gardens. The cafe food was fantastic too. Great facilities. Have previously attended the farmer’s market and would highly recommend. It's ok. Pretty hall and gardens. Farmers markets are good but expensive to park. Went to a specialist plant fair last bank holiday. £6 entry pp but this allows you in the gardens. Handful of stalls with not much choice. We did go after lunch so perhaps missed the best bits. Disappointed! Absolutely loved Rode Hall! Beautiful walk through woods of snowdrops... Meandering paths allow you to explore and be at one with nature. The house was closed but we'll definitely be back to visit during opening times.. What a lovely day out! We arrived for the Snowdrop Walk - there was plenty of space in the car park and we were handed a lovely map. It's a really pretty walk around the grounds, down to the lake. Given the amount of rain recently, their paths were really well maintained and covered in packet woodchip in places, making walking easy. The farmhouse courtyard has a lovely cafe with hot drinks (tea, coffee, decaf, hot chocolate etc) plenty of hot food options and a large selection of cake, much of which was gluten free. Really good value for money too! Visited on Wednesday 24th Sept. Fabulous kitchen garden, lovely walk down to the lake and around the garden, Did the house tour with Neil of which he had a lot of knowledge and very interesting things to talk about, beautiful family home. Only one criticism was that you don't get to look at things at your leisure. Cafe was okay but not much choice.
