Very picturesque with wonderful wooded pathways around it. Its about a leisurely 2hour hike for a complete circuit. Lots of wildlife to see. The car park is free however only holds about 25 cars so fills up quickly on hot summer days. We waited 15 minutes in our car for a space to become available. Easy to find. Well worth visiting for some exercising. If you want a that is quiet, easy and really pretty, this is a hidden gem of stoke. The carpark is free, and the has lots to look at and explore. The downside is other dog walkers leaving poobags along the path... There is only one bin and that is situated at the carpark. The waterfall, is almost magical, it's not big and grand. Is subtle and quiet. It's now one of my new fave places to walk. We have only scratched the surface of all the walks possible there. I just love this walk. Short walk, literally a mile and a half circuit if that but beautiful. You can do some searching if you want to go around where the old estate used to stand. The is currently very low so you kind of get a bea h into the bargain. I live so close to this place but never been A good steady around, we saw families, older men and women with sticks so good for all with capabity of walking There is a couple of up hills. Hills arnt massive just a couple minutes so a good for all. Id advise a reasonable shoe, trainers will be ok its what i wore, the ground is soil and pebbles. Plenty of benches to sit on if need a break but the route we took is easy and just under 1.4mile. Plenty of little steps out to the watch tower. This time we didnt go up to but will on next visits Plenty of ducks and geese Also many squirrels Good for all highly recommend Nothing really interesting itself as you can't even around or get close to the water. Food average, poor choice. Parking should be free to encourage people to enjoy nature instead of watching TV but.... PARKING Charges in UK is another topic.... politicians will soon notice humans change into animals - especially poorer who can't afford parking and all car related expenses. Good side: close proximity to National Park Great place for a walk! A beautiful place to and see wildlife. The birds are amazing. Free carpark Toilets Cafe Beautiful place to reconnect with nature, there’s plenty of wildlife such as squirrels, geese, ducks, robins and finches. I parked on the carpark and walked around the reservoir, it’s peaceful and not very challenging, you along the bridge and take in some nice scenery along with some running water which is always relaxing. As you carry on you’ll come to a large old building which is an old tower, turn left and with this on your left keep through the woodland, the path splits off into 3, take the middle path and further along you’ll see a sign saying “waterfall walk”, you’ll see a huge rock on your right that kids like to climb in 😆, follow the very muddy path and you’ll hear the waterfall, be careful on the steps, they are steep and slippy, then you’re at the waterfall. This is such a hidden gem, it’s so relaxing and peaceful. Retrace your steps to the tower and follow the around back to the car park, it’s basically 1 big circular walk, I took my 3 children and it took 2 hours, but I spent most of that waiting for my 3 year old daughter 😂. Lovely place with plenty of benches to relax and soak up nature. Various signs about dogs on leads although some are let off which isn’t a problem to me. Plenty of dog walkers and a few fishermen there, a lovely 2 hour with a that’s 10 minutes away from my house 🏡 😎 Amazing place for a amidst nature with scenic beauty around you. Dogs on leads says the boards however some dogs were just left which was causing bit of an issue to small kids scaring them.. Parking had quite a few spaces and was free. The falls was small but beautiful. Had a great time. Will visit soon. Worth the hunt for the delightful atmosphere. Best to arrive early as the car park tends to fill up very quickly. Big trees,clean environment, can do swim not deep , good place to and a day out , families can enjoy 😉 Lovely place…not many bins around…but very nice place to Lovely area for - plenty of shade and benches all the way round the lake. Popular with dog walkers here too so worth noting. Old ruins on the way around, which is worth a nosy and a few minutes away is the remains of a well. During the summer, as I'm writing this, the ground is easy but would advise sensible, gripy footwear - and in winter it will absolutely be required, as the ground will be very muddy, water levels much higher, etc. Only two downsides are the parking situation, and the rubbish people leave behind. Had a nice wintery stroll along the with my mates. Can get bit muddy along the way so recommend appropriate footwear. Free car park with good spaces. The whole trail can take upto 2hrs but there are other routes which can be done in less than 1 hr. Not been here since little girl beautiful place for around it Can I fishing? Beautiful place, beautiful views, across the lake. Not ideal if you have difficulties as lots of hills, some very steep. Ample car parking spaces at both entrances with a visitors centre at one entrance. I will definitely return when I'm a little fitter.
