We had an amazing day, learning about the edibles of the coast with our very guide who kept the whole group engaged and involved from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Well done Kris, I look forward to joining you on an inland course in the future. Thank you for such a positive and informative day. I went in Buckland Park Lake on Friday 21st November. This was my 2nd time on the course and I brought my friend who loves mushrooms. Al was a guide, very and friendly to everyone. Despite the frost we managed to find quite a few different and we got to make a lovely risotto with them. I can’t these courses enough! 🤩 Did the course last Saturday (15th November 2025) in Whinlatter with Fez. It was truly an excellent day out. Fez was a guide and his passion and knowledge for definitely came across. It was a very nice mix of being informative with references to all kinds of literature, but also light hearted with plenty of funny anecdotes. It has definitely inspired me to forage in my local area, and also look to booking on another course in a different season. The meal afterwards was also excellent and catered well for my girlfriend who is vegan. Thank you very much 😁 We had a brilliant day at Buckland Park Lake with Al . Despite the rain we had a real insight into which were and the ones to avoid Al was SO entertaining. We loved him! We ended up cooking a risotto in the woods which was absolutely delicious after a long day outside. We were particularly impressed with Al’s knife skills. My son and I had a lovely day with Beth as our guide. Beth was very and passionate about returning lost knowledge back to her students. Although it was a bit cold and damp, it was still amazing to walk no more than a mile and find so many plants around us. It was also very good to understand what plants not to eat. I’ve added some photos of what we cooked and ate following our walk, as well as a photo of hemlock. You really don’t want to be eating that! It was fantastic! We had a time with Willow our dog for mushrooms. Al is so and witty too! We really enjoyed our day and loved that we got stuck in ourselves finding and not so mushrooms! We will be back and I would 100% this fun day out! Thank you Al 🍄 We had a day at Swinsty reservoir led by Kris. He was very friendly, and gave us lots of advice on how to forage. The meal he cooked us at the end was lovely! I have since started making mint and nettle tea after learning about the many benefits of drinking it. To be honest I was a little sceptical about the day which was purchased for us as a present. However when we arrived and met Alasdair I knew the day was going to be great. He was funny and very experienced, we learnt so much about and had a lunch at the end. As soon as we left the car park we were bending down and picking yellow flowers to eat that tasted like Pineapple. I would the day to anyone it was very good. Fabulous day in the lanes at Wirral Country Park including some time on the salt marsh. Our leader Hazel was so and entertaining - she really motivated me to get out foraging. The meal we made at the end with our spoils was delicious, ending to a day. Can 100% recommend, whether you've foraged before or are a complete novice like me. Had a day with Fez at Teggs Nose Country Park near Macclesfield despite the rain showers. Fez was very with lots of stories and to listen to. Lunch was too. Am now a convert! An amazing day at Grizedale Forest with a group of people. Course guides Kris and Anna were very welcoming and friendly. Nice pace and very informative. After the course I felt confident in identifying some plants and collecting them on my own. Thanks to the course I have made my own tincture, balm and recently some elderflower syrup. I would definitely and book again 🤩🌱🍄🪻 We had an informative, relaxed, fun day with Fez at Rufford Abbey. Weather was so that added to enjoyment. if you enjoy outdoor spaces and nature. I had such a day around the woodland at Swinsty reservoir. Our guide Fez was really and engaging, showing us all the different types of mushrooms, grasses, plants, trees, herbs and pretty much everything growing around us! Lots of the group in our introductions expressed an interest in and Fez made sure to give us a huge amount of in depth info on the different species and where to typically find them as well as how to identify them. We were lucky enough to find a big patch of hen of the woods growing which made up part of our three course lunch as well as a beef steak mushroom. The lunch itself was plentiful, tasty and quickly prepared with help from us all and Fez gave us tips on how to make the various dishes and salts. Would 100% it to anyone. Thanks for a day! We had a time and cooking in the woods of Langley logs. We were told that mid September is the sweet spot of the year because just start sprouting. Our forager Kelly was and very knowledgeable, we learnt a lot about identifying and their lookalikes which are not so edible. We found a huge puff ball which was the star of the day and some very pretty porcinis. We also learnt about rose hips, nettles, clover leaves, hawthorns and yarrow. It was a very satisfying experience to cook what we foraged with everyone on the tour. It was a fantastic experience overall and we would highly it for yourself or as a gift to your loved ones, it was a gift to us that we are very grateful for.
