Downs Banks National Trust site is a beautiful place to for a through some gorgeous Staffordshire woodlands with great views. is limited and can be a little tricky as there are limited spaces so roadside might be the option. A car with good clearance is also a bonus when at this site. There's a good cafe on site and the take you past streams and some wonderful views. If you're Staffordshire way then a is highly recommended. place for a wander with our dog. Peaceful and well laid out. Fabulous around the Down with breathtaking views across Staffordshire and in to Wales. There are Some quite steep hills to contend with. Buggies and the less well able to are catered for too with nicely lain paths for you to enjoy. This was a place to go for a walk, the view was amazing from the top of the hill at Millenniums point. Car park is easily accessible and also has a coffee and snacks bar. I'd highly recommend this, especially if looking for new areas to explore. Absolutely beautiful. My boy and the doggies had a wonderful time. Not a piece of litter in sight, had such fun in the little stream, stopped for coffee at the coffe trailer. Just a morning ❤️ Great to round. Coffee hut open at weekends too Visited on a chill Autumn day with our two doggies. Absolutely little area of nature. Beautiful and varied with various surfaces mildly muddy in some spots. The autumn colours on the trees were a sight to behold. This area is popular with dog walkers and many are off the lead, if you have nervous or reactive you may want to avoid. We had no big issues but did hear a couple of episodes in the distance where were obviously not getting on as well as you would like. We did a circular either side of the stream.Weather hot in the afternoon which was nice. There's a cafe hut here too Such a walk. Had to go early in the morning before it got too warm which meant other dog walkers were too so it can get busy. People were very friendly which is always a plus. The cows didn't mind all the dogs, just make sure your dog is undercontrol or it's not fair on the cows. My Zuko didn't mind em, don't think he even noticed them to be honest. A very nice on some of the walk. The seem to love it. Didn't see any algae which I always worry about. I paid £2.80 for a latte and they do Puppacino's Myself, my wife and my in-laws came to a cottage near Blythe Bridge for our wedding anniversary. We had looked at a few places to go out for (ourselves and the dogs), and we decided on Downs Bank first. We're so pleased we did. There is ample for around 40 cars. We did a few easy as both of my in laws are getting on in years. But, there are a lot more challenging for those that like to get the heart rate up. Benches around the bank are a little hard to find but there are sufficient for just taking a brief moment near the stream. We were here in January and we couldn't have asked for better weather, and being early in the year, the cold and lack of children had made this a beautiful place to stroll around with very few people/kids or to break the relative tranquility of a place. Once you have done the a couple of times the chance of a different type of photograph have gone, but then you could start to get creative about differing points of view and shots to try. Overall I would highly recommend Downs Bank for all ages and abilities. Lots of parking, multiple walks! There are hill and flat trails so it’s good for those that fancy a bit of a challenge as well as those that just want a nice stroll. Perfect for dogs! Bring a towel if you don’t want wet muddy paws in the car though as your dog is more or less guaranteed to go in the stream! Absolutely fantastic place to with the kids and the dog. A few visitors need to make sure they pick up after their as I have seen lots of filled poo bags stuck in trees and a the side of the paths. There is bins dotted around so this shouldn't be happening. But other than that, what a brilliant experience myself and my family have had. Some amazing memories made on every visit. place for walks- beautiful paths with streams, stepping stones and a view at the higher section. Plenty of spaces when we got there before 1100 on a weekday this was. Lots of off leash though however this time we were lucky most of them had very good recall training. Otherwise it would have been very stressful. Nice place for a place for a with views all across the plain to Shropshire and beyond. Nice little cafe (no National Trust and no toilets) just before you get to the car park. Ideal place for a with lots of spots for a picnic and paddle in the stream.
