Honestly, I feel like any sort of flora would've been welcome to alleviate some of the brutal heat. It is the second time we come to visit Nicosia by public transport (intercity bus) from Larnaca. The head of the line in Nicosia is the Eleftheria market. The area was set up quite futuristically, ornaments, fountains with lights, Christmas lights. Public toilets are also available but in a rather poor condition. Famous Zaha Hadid’s in the center of Nicosia. A quiet place in the heart of the city. A visionary architecture, en event space and a place to spend time walking around the town. Overall, it’s a nice place, but the behavior of the guards really needs improvement. Either better training or hiring more professional personnel would make a difference. There seems to be no shortage of incidents with them. For example, in one situation, a guard was pacing in frustration, insisting that people leave the stairs and choose to go either up or down. Unfortunately, Ive missed the exact moment he was scolding them. It’s worth noting, this is a free country.
