Nice bit of history, well presented. Cafe was closed so can't comment on that but I'd imagine a nice brew would go well with the tour. This is well worth a visit with well organised exhibits. Lovely cafe on site too A very welcoming museum, well stocked with local and period items which depict and transport you back in time. The exhibits are displayed in their everyday setting, best of these are those in the street layout with the shop windows bursting with lots of articles forgotten or unknown, taking your mind back in time. On arrival you'll be given an audio handset, this gives you a brief, clear and very interesting piece of information on the exhibits as you walk around. An enjoyable day out, activities for children and refreshments in the cafe. What a gem! This is one of those places you to out of curiosity and wonder why you haven't been before. Surpasses Bunratty Folk Park in the level of detail, context and supplementary information sources (handset recordings) provided. A lovely little play area and a cafe that serves substantial meals. Well worth a visit and excellent value for money. The railway exhibition is also recommended. We had a lovely family day out! My girls lived it. I would highly recommend the Clover cafe, the soup was delicious and the service was amazing!! Really cool living history museum. Enjoyed walking through and learning local history. We visited from 3-5pm and it wasn't crowded. Suggest bringing your own plug -in headphones for the audio tour! Staff are wonderful, café serves super food, you're free to spend a long as you like wandering around, would highly recommend for a great day out! It was a very interesting look into the past, and the old shops , house, cottage etc.The staff were so helpful & friendly! We had lunch in the cafe, which was very good, and again, friendly staff. A replica of the way life would have looked in small town Ireland 100 years ago. Whilst “the street” was interesting I didn’t enjoy having to listen to an explanation and then try to see what was being referenced. A sign would have been better (or headphones). I didn’t feel this was worth the entrance fee of €12.
