Gleniff Horseshoe completely took our breath away. Tucked away in the mountains of County Sligo, this 10 km loop feels like stepping into a postcard. We drove the route on a quiet afternoon and were amazed at how peaceful and untouched it all felt. Towering cliffs, misty peaks, and lush greenery made it feel like we were the only ones in the world. This place isn’t overly touristy, which made it even more special. No crowds, no noise—just raw, Irish beauty. If you’re anywhere near Sligo, make time for this drive. It’s one of the most scenic and soulful places we’ve ever experienced in Ireland. This is so amazing. Like one of the best places in the whole of Ireland to visit. Breathtaking Some cool caves up the mountain. Wish we had time to hike, a light rain blew in and out when we were there as well. Beautiful and rather quick drive. Took 20 minutes including stopping for pics. Sept 10, 2024. I have not seen such stunning mountains anywhere. we got a glorious day. Hike up to Annacoona Top is arduous but totally doable in good weather. What an amazing experience !! This place is a bliss. I went there and forgot everything else in the world … We spent good ~2hours here, wandering, clicking pictures, and enjoying the Mother Nature. It’s a serene place with amazing views. It’s short from Sligo and hence highly recommended if you are in Sligo or passing by. Where do I even start? After travelling through 17 different counties and visiting countless tourist attractions from the Cliffs of Moher to Giant’s Causeway, this just might be my most favourite one yet! It’s so incredibly underrated too, we went at 8pm and there wasn’t a single soul in sight! Beautiful place. Good for a ramble or you can just by in a car. Great scenery and beautiful view, great tourist spot but very limited space for parking cars. Even under some cloud cover, a stunning spot. Magical place , it will exceed your imagination. This place is a must. The first thing u will say is waaaaw Breathtaking view with peaceful vibe of the river and sheep’s climbing the mountain. It’s a perfect place for a walk, run, meditation and whatever you are thinking about . Good spot for pictures and videos for instagram. I visited this place twice so far and will do it every time when I get a chance . Consider this place on your list or you will regret it One of our favorite drives during our two weeks in Ireland. The scenic of the place is delightful to the soul. Make sure you have enough essentials if you are going for a hike and ofcaurse expect rain at anytime you will be lucky if you see sunlight and couldy view both on same day. If you are hiking one day is enough otherwise with 3-4 hours are enough. Absolutely breathtaking views. One of many picturisque places county sligo has to offer. There were only 2 cars besides myself (Thursday afternoon) it was just amazing. Highly recommend. Such a beautiful site to see. It’s on a small one lane road but the ride is beautiful. We parked on the side of the road and took pictures and videos. There were many sheep along the mountain and beautiful large cave. Very picturesque. There is also a little waterfall. The alone the mountainside was also beautiful Great with fantastic views! Nice waterfall, too. Super windy when we were there!
