Abbiamo visitato questo palazzo con la scuola. Purtroppo è restaurato solo in parte ma ha degli elementi decorativi veramente bellissimi. It was getting pretty crowded and parking seemed a nightmare when we were leaving around 630. Not easy for a stroller or people with walking difficulty and definitely not wheelchair friendly. Entry area is deep loose gravel that we couldn't push the stroller through. Ramp up to main area is steep and very uneven stone. Impossible with a stroller. Then at the top there's about 3 flights of stairs to get up to the top area. It's just the way the place is built. Sì, perché questo palazzo, parte del meraviglioso Parco Nazionale del Vesuvio, è stato sottratto alla camorra e restituito con gioia alla collettività e alle persone che possono goderne liberamente. La storia di questo monumento è affascinante e molto antica: io e mio marito abbiamo avuto la fortuna di ascoltarla dalla viva voce di alcuni protagonisti che se ne prendono costantemente cura, con passione e attivismo contagioso. Maestoso il panorama di cui si può godere guardandosi attorno! Siamo rimasti davvero affascinati da questa chicca vesuviana e speriamo di tornarci presto! Consigliatissimo! Sono tornato al Castello di Ottaviano oggi ma purtroppo ho trovato chiuso la parte superiore che sicuramente è la più bella ricca di affreschi e mobilia antica (in quest’area tra l’altro ogni anno organizzano i mercatini di Natale che oggi erano chiusi). Nel contempo vi era in atto una cerimonia e sono riuscito ad immortalare la grande sala addobbata per il matrimonio. È un luogo che almeno una volta nella vita bisogna visitare poiché, oltre alla storia e a determinate vicissitudini legate al passato, si può assistere a un belvedere a cielo aperto The castle in Ottaviano is a magical place with a unique atmosphere.
