Small walled church, very cool and worth a detour. Just watch out for the traffic camera going through town I am a really proud romanian when I see well preserved sites like this one. The entrance is only RON 15 (10 if you are a pupil/student) and you definitely won’t regret it. No long lines, no crowds, no noise, and no children crying everywhere. While these are experiences you might encounter elsewhere, you certainly won’t find them here—thankfully. The main courtyard is and well-maintained, and the ceramic museum is interesting. However, it doesn’t feature the medieval-style exhibits I’d hoped to see. The fortress is worth a visit, though exhibits are limited and undated, consisting mostly of ceramic works from the past century. It’s unfortunate, as the fortress itself dates back to the mid-12th century and could feature much more history about its eras and the reconstructions it has undergone, rather than focusing primarily on regional ceramics. Still, it’s worth the visit. Debated about making the diversion on our trip between Sibiu and Corvin Castle. So glad we did, absolutely fortified house / tower / church, garden and friendly custodian- happy to chat in my limited Romanian. Well worth 15 Lei adult tickets. The Fortress has been maintained quite well, you can most of it, aside from the ramparts and at the time of visit, the Tower as it was under renovations. The place has a church, a museum and a wine barrels area inside the courtyard. The museum has many local works, but also ceramics from other regions of the country. There are many parking places around, so it's easy to stop by, in about an hour and be on your way. The ticket is about 3€ for adults. Very interesting. These fortresses seem to be all over Romania. An important document was signed here. You have to pay additional to take pictures inside, so I only took a couple photos outside before entering. Inside, there were several trees. The trees looked extremely healthy and vivid. I enjoyed looking at them. Câlnic Fortified Church is a UNESCO site but it's the least interesting of them. The tower is off limits and you cannot walk the walls. You can only see the church which is small and bleak. Admission is 15 lei. They have a large parking. Wonderful and well preserved citadel. It is under UNESCO heritage. The citadel is not big compared to others but it is preserved very well. There are restrooms and some parking lots. We visited the place with 5 years old kids and they enjoyed it. At the place you can also buy some wine and souvenirs. Definitely worth visiting. Other fascinant history from Transilvania. You may actually accommodate there in the fortress by night. The breakfast and dinner included, and they are prepared by locals. Well conserved items. Nice exhibition. Host very helpful. Very old castel. The castel has a garden filled with flowers. You can an old chapel, old winery and a museum. Parking it's free and very convenient, you can park the car near the castel. Usually it's not very crowded. A must see place if you like history. Absolutely unmissable! A true gem hidden in the countryside between Alba Iulia and Sibiu. The doors were closed when we arrived, but we called the number suggested and the guardian lady came to open the castle and museum for us. It is only 15 lei per person and it also has a very nice offer for local handmade souvenirs. Inside it’s a proper garden in full bloom! A historical citadel from 13th century, UNESCO heritage site, lovingly cared by the local people. I visited in August and the curator had the interior yard set up with lovely potted flowers that created a unique experience.
