Beautiful museum which covers a very large section of the history of pop and rock music. The included audio tour is really nice as it starts automatically when you walk up to an exhibit. Covers not just German Pop culture but also the historic pop movements from blues, country, folk, punk rock, hip hop, metal, hard rock, dance but also regional movement from e.g. the Netherlands or with Indonesian influences. Many original exhibits from performers and bands from all over the world. Very friendly staff and a cozy café. Open on all public holidays except Christmas and new year. Didn’t expect it to be that good. Huge amount of information. To the headphones you need to get used to, but once you figured it out it is great. Pretty large museum with a lot of information about a large range of topics concerning (live) music. Sometimes, it feels a bit chaotic, but then again, history isn't always a clear, linear path. There's some very interesting parafernalia on display, from musical instruments to clothing. The audio guides work well, for the most part. Sometimes there's hickups or things are spaced not quite right. But nothing too serious. The large concert excerpts that play every half hour are cool, but also very disruptive (and loud!). Unfortunately, for younger children it's a lot of talking and reading, and not enough interaction. I wouldn't recommend this for children under ten. As a final tip: please add a permanent staff member to the interactive part. The way the previous visitor had set up the mixing table was horrendous. They had turned up all the gains all the way, slid the volume sliders all the way up, and muted every channel. I could've gotten ear damage by unmuting the channels. Luckily I knew what I was doing... I liked it very much. You can walk bij stands with lots of info, pictures and items from different styles and artists. through headphones you can listen to story's and matching Comprehensive collection of memorabilia which is creatively presented. Headphones for translation/information and large screens for regular cameos on specific artists like Lady Gaga, Queen, AC/DC, etc. Well worth a visit. Very nice museum, you get a voice guided tour with headphones. You learn a lot about history there. Every 20 minutes up on the big screens they play concert clips. German, english and dutch spoken. we spend around two hours here. You get headphones to hear the and explaination. Absolutely fantastic place to experience the history of rock and pop music. Changing exhibitions that will always excite you. Great experience and it was good that the audio tour could be in German, English or Dutch. It is good that you can check availability online. The website clearly explained what the museum entailed, but we were still surprised as to what a great experience it was.
