When in Greece you do what Greeks do...drink in the middle of the day. We went to this outdoor restaurant for the Tsipouro. There were 3 of us so we each ordered a 100ml bottle. Then the food started coming. Random plates of everything. I thought a mistake was made because we didn't order food. Then my cousin said that they automatically provide food when you order a few bottles of Tsipouro. They accommodated me being Vegan by broking out grilled mushrooms, grilled peppers, Greek salad with feta on side, fresh bread, a few none vegan items and at the end a huge plate of vanilla ice cream with a simple chocolate cake. It was ridiculous the amount of food we got for just getting Tsipouro. After 5 bottles of Tsipouro our order totalled to 30€. The Tsipouro was 6€ or bottle. Food was complimentary. Not sure how they make money but in that region of Greece the vegetables and meat are as fresh as can be. They probably had it all growing in their backyard.
