Highly recommended 👍🏽 😀 If you travel using public transportation from Vevey, you can either catch a train to the Vevey-Funi station (2 minutes) or catch a bus (Line 216 works). The funicular will take you in 10 minutes to the stop called Mont Pelerin and if you want to reach the summit you will have to walk about 1 hour (it all depends on how fit you are). The of Lake Geneva, the mountains and neighboring France are worth the hike! Hiked up to Mont Pèlerin from the funicular station in mid-April 2023. The scenic hike along the roadway from the funicular station to Mont Pèlerin took a little over an hour. Jaw dropping views of the surrounding natural landscape at every pause during the hike. Beautiful views of Lake Geneva and the Alps. Rewarding hike! The roadway is the hiking trail from the funicular to Mont Pèlerin. Use caution at certain points along the hike as there are no sidewalks or bike lanes along the roadway. Stunning. Didn't make it to the top but had a picnic at the tiny but perfectly situated park overlooking the lake. Ideal stop for families wanting a view. Incredible drive up the mountain ⛰ Nice and great place to walk around the place ! You can take a train from Chardonne . It is a unique train way ! It has single track for some distance and then it crosses with the train coming in other direction ! I enjoyed taking train upwards / downwards , sunset was beautiful from the location 😇 We did snow shoeing over there. Its quite easy and good for all ages. It took us around 2h30. Easy to park. Great and lovely walk. We spent about 1.5 hours on the way up from the funicular station. The route is uphill of course, but it never got very steep. At the top there’s a platform that costs 5 chf to go up, with a fantastic as well. Wonderful views. Free parking. Paved buggy-accessible forest walk with picnic areas and a small playground. The tower was closed when I visited due to COVID-19 but you can still enjoy magnificent views of Lac Leman without gaining entry to the tower. Nice easy walk! The 457 route takes about 3 hours. Not much climb. Suitable for a half day hiking. There is a bar/restaurant near the funiculaire, with fantastic view! Open on Sunday! Nice hiking, but be prepared if you go walking. We went there and it was closed, a bit disappoint because we just discovered when we arrived. Check the light before going up.. Great on the way, though.
