The clay pit is a fun activity as well although actually finding anything proved to be extremely hard. The has spades, wellies and other stuff to help you dig out the fossils. The is bound to opening hours but access to the pit seems to be free otherwise. It was a great experience! Especially for the Kids. Definitely pack some changing clothes when hunting for fossils. Wonderful place, really nice guide, awesome family experience! We spend a wonderful day digging in the clay, found some amazing Fossils. If you have the time, go and dig up some old stuff A nice with a lot of explanation. You can also go to the dig site and dig up your own fossil’s! This place is brilliant. I'm still gutted that we ran into bad weather as soon as we'd settled into the pit and started digging. We will definitely be back and hope a big thunder cloud won't find us next time.
