Niet zo spectaculair, maar wel leuk als je bedenkt dat Wellington hier echt was ingekwartierd. Absolutely beautiful and spacious with full of flowers and greenery in the summer. It is a dedicated to the Battle of Waterloo around June 18 in 1815. The exhibits a collection of documents and artifacts that indicates the historical significance of the battle. This location is also a charming destination for visitors or enthusiasts in learning about this European history. Fijn museum. Goeie audiogids die je meeneemt naar die tijd in Waterloo. Er valt nog veel te lezen op pancartes en te bekijken in de vitrines. Ze werken samen met het Waterloomuseum. Er is ook een verhelderende expo over het gebruik van paarden in de militaire omgeving. Beautiful museum, in the heart of the city, worth to be visited. Price is 10€/adult but with the extra Playmobil exhibition is 15€/adult. Another interesting visit. There were very interesting original pieces! The voice guide was very informative. There was a Playmobil exposition when we were there. All children going crazy to see the impressive spectacle :-) and of course some parents. The of the building was also interesting te hear. On the other side of the road, behind the church, there is a parking. Girl in reception is really friendly and smart. Situated in the center of Waterloo and part of the pass 1815, it's the where a refurbishment could help making it more interactive. The temporary exhibition although makes it worthwhile the visit. Never new the playmobil collection also covered Napoleonistic figurines... The Musée Wellington in Waterloo served as the Allied command center during the pivotal 1815 battle, where the Duke of Wellington directed strategy and issued the victory dispatch that ended Napoleonic dominance in Europe. Much smaller than the main at the lion mound and battlefield, but there's a more intimate and authentic feel in this place. Lots of information and interesting items. Take the time to soak it all up. Worth a visit. Small museum, well organised. If you want to learn about the Waterloo battle and life of Wellington, this is the place. Another must see if you are a fan of and especially of the 18th and 19th century. They had several different displays removed at the moment, including the French Cuirass with mortal damage.
