This was a very nice food experience, we were very hungry driving to Ericeira and stopped to have this as we heard that it's good. Well, yeah, it's great and it's very big! It's something like a roll stuffed with and cheese, served hot, you can also have beer or lemonade. Must try if you are near. I love this place. I love the staff always super friendly and helpful (especially with my non existent Portuguese). If I am ever anywhere near Ericeira this is a must stop. Great roadside stop for a quick, easy, cheap lunch. Would have been even better if the was warm I’ll describe each pastry item with a short sentence and a example from world cuisine: 1. Broa de mel: A traditional Portuguese honey cake, to the Greek honey-based dessert baklava in its sweetness and use of honey. 2. Ferradura: A horseshoe-shaped cake that might remind one of the horseshoe-shaped Italian cookies known as ferratelle. 3. Bola de Berlim: to the German Berliner, a doughnut filled with jam or custard. 4. Travesseiro: A pillow-shaped pastry, to the French coussin de Lyon, known for its unique shape. 5. Pastel de nata: A Portuguese egg tart pastry, to the French pâtisserie item quiche for its custard filling and pastry crust. 6. Queijadinha de Sintra: A small cheesecake from Sintra, much like the Spanish quesada pasiega. 12. Bolinho de coco: A coconut cake, to the Caribbean coconut drops, a sweet coconut snack. 14. Pastel de feijão: A bean pie, which is a unique Portuguese pastry but might be loosely compared to red bean desserts from East Asia, like Japanese anko. I bought 5, total 7,50€ plus 1€ de berlim Delicious, especially the chorizo-cheese sandwich. The only thing is that the bread-to-filling ratio could be a bit better (it’s quite a lot of bread). Great bread, great view, straightforward price and service. They accept card.
