A really big forest with a lot of walks. You could get your 10,000 steps in several times by walking all over it. Special mention for the "Camp Walk" which I tried hard to comply with. In spring there were loads of bluebells carpeting parts of the forest. There is parking but not a lot of it. There are pathways you can follow which are like roads and pathways which are just tracks in the forest, so not suitable for wheelchairs. Definitely a good place for a long walk. Very busy wood with lots of dogs and their poos on the way. It's hard to focus on the nature when your head is down watching the pathway all the time. Besides, the forest has its own charm Absolutely beautiful woodland, perfect for a peaceful walk in nature. Well-marked trails, lots of native trees, and a lovely mix of shaded paths and open clearings. Great spot for families, dog walkers, or anyone looking to unwind outdoors. In spring and summer, the wildflowers are stunning and a lot of wild garlic. There's free parking at the entrance and the area is very clean and well looked after. A hidden gem in County Kildare highly recommended if you're nearby! Great fun for your kids an lovely to cycle highly recommended 😉 Beautiful walks in the wood. Some fairy doors and tree swings for the kids but don't come looking for much amenities beyond nature. Small carpark but never too busy. A great option for a nice walk and picnic if in the area. Lovely place for a walk. The trails are clearly marked, longest one is 1700mts. You could spend a good few hrs just exploring the different trails. The car park is a bit small but it is free. Will definitely come back once blue bells are in bloom. Beautiful walk, dog friendly ❤️ 4th May 2025. Loads of bluebells in bloom, and wild garlic too. Brilliant Bluebells and Buskers festival. The location is particularly stunning during the last week of April and the first week of May, when the beautiful flowers are in bloom. This period offers excellent opportunities for photography, making it an ideal time to visit.
