An interesting historical place and a huge park with children playground. There are options for family gathering in the nature. Красиво и поддържано! Great visit, really enjoyed it! I read some reviews that said they sometimes close a bit early for lunch so we went at 10am, got the little funicular up to the fortress, enjoyed the views and medieval village, and discovered a FABULOUS playground! Left at around noon, had no trouble getting the funicular back. Lovely destination to visit if in the area. An interesting place situated in the lower part of the mountain. If you take the trail you will reach the top within 15-20 min slow pace walking. There is a funicular as well. There is a hut within a hour of walking, they serve food and beverages but have in mind that the service might be a bit slow. The hut is situated in a nice forest and is actually a very nice and cosy place to spend time. Near the there is a nice children playground Amazing place with so much history and the people are lovely “Tsari Mali Grad, also known as the Small Tsar’s Fortress, is a medieval located in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria. Built in the 11th–12th centuries, it served as a strategic defensive stronghold and an important trade center in the region. The features well-preserved walls, towers, and gates, offering visitors a glimpse into Bulgaria’s medieval history. Surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, it is a perfect destination for hiking, photography, and exploring historical ruins. This is a very well preserved ancient fortress. Perched on a key mount with a great view, it's a very well developed site with a pleasant walk to it, but you can also take a funicular up the hill. The museum itself is half open, half enclosed in some of the rebuilt towers, displaying different artefacts from its various heights. There are several bigger objects, mainly a trebuchet, a ballista and a Thracian chariot. It's a really nice place to visit, as weall as a great picnic spot! Great walk and a well organised historical comple. It does require about an hour or a lottle but less to be able to explore and read up in the rich history and admire the views. Nice wheter, will definitely make the journey worth ot a lot more. Do not think the lift is a necessary expense for able walking people, the walk from the parking to Tsarimaligrad is about 15 min walk up the hill. Worth visiting :) The elevator is not working. If you are with a wheelchair or a stroller keep that in mind. Beautiful place although. We went up the very steep hill, my gf needed something to drink. The soda machine only takes cash so I asked the lady at the register wether we could pay her with cash and she could give us the money in cash. She refused. Considering the heavy sun and steep hills a no go in my opinion, what if someone collapses? Very unfriendly. The elevator for disabled is not working! And I think it is constantly not working. If you are coming with a baby stroller or a wheelchair it wouldn’t be easy to go up the stairs to the fortress’s in-yard without help. Although it is wonderful place to be visited! 👌 Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
