Pejačević in Virovitica is a late-baroque and neoclassicistic in the town of Virovitica, Virovitica–Podravina County, northern Croatia. It is one of several castles owned by the members of Pejačević noble family in the region of Slavonia. The was built in 1800–04 by Croatian count Antun Pejačević (*1749; †1802) and his son Antun (*about 1775; †1838) on the site of a previous fortress from the Middle Ages. It was designed by N. Roth, an architect from Vienna. The was the seat of the whole Virovitica estate, whose proprietors changed pretty often in the past. Built as a single-storey edifice in the middle of surrounding park, the is rectangular in plan. The structure is almost symmetrical, with a slightly projecting central block and the ends of two wings that project forward. The main frontage of the is turned toward the major downtown square. The back side is decorated with two lines of arcades that follow the lines of the corridor, the upper one containing fragmented windows. After being bought by Virovitica municipality in 1930, the was rearranged and since 1953 it houses a town museum, with several collections (archeology, ethnography, culture and history, and so on). The is home to Virovitica Municipal Museum. Very nice castle, perfectly renovated. Huge all around of the castle. Wide passage and huge green grasses. Very good. An impressive building. From my experience, this building is the highlight of a visit to Virovitica. Set within a park, it is a peaceful area to walk around. Lijepo uređeno..park prekrasan Looks beautiful on the outside, but not quite finished on the inside. Project expected to be completed late August 2019. In the meantime enjoy the and water feature. Didn’t get a chance to go in but enjoyed the manicured property outside. Great place to sit back and relax with different paths leading to streets and parks. They also have a bridge that when you cross it plays music. Very creative touch! Very clean place from the outside and well maintained. Dvorac renoviran, dočekala nas kustosica, održala uvodnu riječ i pokazala odakle početi. Definitivno vrijedi pogledati, vrlo lijepo uređene izložbe sa puno izložaka koje vraćaju u neka dobra stara vremena naših baka i djedova. Ako prolazite kroz Viroviticu nemojte propustiti posjetiit ovaj prekrasni dvorac. Osoblje vrlo ljubazno i susretljivo. New, beautiful...bit confused exhibit. Sometimes less is more Huge with nice inside. Best place in the area Ovaj Dvorac je uvijek dobra ideja za izlet. ❤️ u svako doba godine, predivno je uređeno, čisto, mirno, jako lijepo za vidjeti. Sve preporuke :) Beautiful on the outside and a very interesting on the inside. Expect to stay inside for at least an hour and half but we stayed longer. There are interesting interactive activities inside, some work only if you know Croatian. Dvorac i muzej, obnovljen, jako lijep dvorac i dio oko njega (parkić). 🤝 Prekrasno It was a lovely visit for a weekend. The is wheel chair friendly. Tickets can be bought on the spot. We were welcomed by the curator of the who gave us such a nice intro beforehand looking around. The has few thematic collections all tied to Virovitica history. Every visitor will enjoy the warmth of this interactive which was achieved by the wood (oak) that is tightly integrated in the story. Highly recommended visit! Beautiful town and castle, park, love it :)..Worth to visit! Nice Museum. Uredan i lijep dvorac👍🏽 Predivan dvorac-muzej u samom srcu grada.
