I have been visiting Elvaston Castle for over 30 years. The grounds are delightful but the toilets and cafe are not great. There is a lack of funding and it would be great if the hall could be opened. There is a lot going on here, a dog festival was hosted when we arrived. I appreciate that it's in public control but it is not managed imaginatively at the moment. Beautiful place to walk and have lunch or even breakfast. Coffee not the best though. Staff are lovely. Visited inside the hall recently, that was a great experience. Nice visit, big grounds, plenty of space for a picnic and walking. There's a children's play area, a cafe onsite, and small gift shop. Lots of parking A really lovely public space, where you can walk under the trees or out in full sun. A lovely l, but busy, cafe with outside and indoor seating to rest at too. Awesome place to visit. It has a cafe, loos, gift shop and lots of gardens, a lake and a nature reaerve to explore. It is free to enter and explore the castle grounds, nature reserve and country park There are picnic benches and bins in the park. They have good signs. A great place to visit still with plenty of parkland and hidden places to find sadly been run down for a few years with no end in sight. Still worth a visit for the green spaces, architecture and gardens and it’s free to visit with only a small parking charge. Public transport calls at Borrowash with about a mile walk to the park or you can catch a bus to Shardlow and enter the park via the old main drive up to the hall. This is my daily therapeutic walk while waiting for knee surgery. It is an amazing place with a rich history of over 900 years. Peaceful and full of wildlife, it has ignited my passion for photography. Highly recommended, there is an excellent restaurant and small gift shop selling duck friendly food, ice cream, weigh out sweets and mementoes Highly recommended day out Lovely castle and amazing grounds, and all for free! Great day out for anyone especially families. Nice park, lovely architecture. Big gardens and fields with great areolas scatter throughout Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
