It can be busy at weekends so advised to book a table. Lovely friendly atmosphere. Caravan park opposite club...I haven't stayed there but it looks nice with views of the marina . Small car park next to club. Children's play area. Seats available inside and out. Usually have live music throughout the summer month, best to check on their website for list of who is playing. Food is reasonably priced. I did have one meal (crab ) which wasn't up to scratch, it had shell left in the meat. All other meals have been lovely and we've eaten there a few times. Beautiful location. Excellent facilities. New shower block under construction. Plenty pubs and eating places. Flat location with many walks and cycle tracks. Very helpful wardens. Deffo on the return list. Was looking for somewhere to stay travelling through England. This has a great location but the showers and toilets were shut, didn't see that on their website. Still charging full rate even with vat reduction. Was a bit late but the lady in the office waited for me but I forgot to ask for WiFi password. On site pub not selling food, only drinks. No gas when I ask to buy some next morning. My local leisure centre has toilets and showers open so using covid was a lame excuse. If it wasn't for the pleasant lady in the office I would have given them 2 stars. Pity as this seemed an interesting place to stay 😔 Had a lovely visit to the marina. Enjoyed a wine at The Boathouse. Very disappointed to hear that when my disabled friend with Cerebral Palsy, and learning difficulty, visibly wearing leg braces, went with a 5L container to buy diesel from the marina to use to power the diesel heater, because he was cold. When asked by Marina staff about whether it was to be used for propulsion or non propulsion he did not understand what he was being asked, as he was not aware of the laws relating to 'red diesel' or the meaning of propulsion (something I had to Google to double check myself). Subsequently, completely oblivious to the fact that it he said that wrong answer he would be refused service. He answered YES instead of NO! Still not understanding why he had been refused, he explained that he was on a moored boat in the marina and that it was for the diesel heater, and still they would not change their mind because of his original answer. As a result he was forced to walk more than half an hour to a petrol station and then carry it back, which I can assure you is very challenging when you are physically disabled. Sorry, but whilst I appreciate that there are laws. This kind of treatment from the woman is nothing less than inhumane and he is now very anxious about returning. Appalled!!! Enjoyed our stay, but! On site pub is good. Warm welcome but no food until Fri/Sat/Sun. (No Campsite fee reduction to reflect winter prices/openings) Shower/toilets are new, warm and clean. Out of 3 showers, 1 was closed, the 2nd was not supplying hot water. This problem has been reported before by us and others but no action taken by the owner. Showers are £2 a time 😬 Dogs £3 a day 😬 Grass cuttings when cut are not collected, so mostly end up in the motorhome. Overall way more expensive than a Caravan and Motorhome Club campsite and less quality. My family had a great time last Saturday. Lovely atmosphere as always and pleasant staff. My daughter Nina (4), played on the park for hours while listening to the bands. Her and her sister always ask to go there. Fantastic food and entertainment all weekend Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great walks and dog friendly. Showers clean couldn’t ask for more highly recommend.
