Most information around the (flyers, signs, maps) is only in Dutch and German, which makes sense due to the many German visitors, but English should really be included as a standard language. A major issue is smoking: it's allowed almost everywhere outdoors, including right next to playgrounds, restaurant entrances, and terraces. For a aimed at children, this is absolutely unacceptable. Smoking should be strictly limited to private porches and a few designated corners. Despite the rules stating no cars between 10:00 and 18:00, we saw vehicles driving through regularly. A proper boom gate would help enforce this. The accommodation looks charming but really needs renovation and better cleaning. The bathroom is tiny and floods easily, and the kitchen lacks basic items and had broken utensils. Dirt roads leading to the chalets are nearly impassable with a stroller, especially in the rain. The WiFi, though technically free, never worked for us due to network issues. Food was hit-or-miss. The Mexican restaurant was good, but the pizza at Billy the Kid was bland. The supermarket was overpriced with limited selection, and the bread was disappointing. On the positive side, there are many fun activities for kids, including hunts with small prizes and a Playmobil indoor area, though it could use better maintenance. The swimming pool is very small but functional. Staff were friendly, though most only spoke Dutch or German, and very few could manage a conversation in English. For an international family destination, this is something that needs improvement. All in all, while there are enjoyable aspects for children, the fails to meet basic expectations in several areas. We left with mixed feelings and would hesitate to return. We had a lot of fun! The house was clean, the employees were friendly and the ponies are lovely! We will definitely visit this place again! Overall a great experience for the children up to 7/8 years old, lots of things to do. Our experience Great things: The nature, lots of ponies, some goats and sheep’s. Playgrounds and most of the activities around! The personal are as well quite friendly. Things what our opinion need definitely improvement are: The restaurants- food, poorly quality, only fast food and very bad old taste …reheated probably, no fresh, frozen stuff; no breakfast option at any restaurant! The accommodation, the houses are old, moldy and smell quite bad and you need to do everything yourself…pay extra for the bed stuff, towels and beds do it yourself too..Beds are from 1970 probably …for us as parents we do not need that in vacation, hence the reason you go vacationing :)!! If you need to cook, make up beds and clean before you go (need to returned the bedsheets and towels back) is not really relaxing for the families! It's the perfect place for every country and western fan. The saloons couldn't look more authentic. Great Western Americana atmosphere. Very nice place, a lot of entertainement and very nice beach :) It was an experience to say the least. The bar was lovely. There was a few members of staff that weren't very friendly but there was a great bar man that made up for it. The food was okay, I guess. It didnt taste fresh at all and we were quite disappointed with the selection. The rooms were not up to standard, I saw quite a few patches of mould and it was a bit unkept. We wont be visiting again.
