A visit to Grič was one of the highlights of my trip. The entire was wonderful. The open kitchen provides an opportunity to see the plating process. This tasting menu was filling and I did not leave hungry. My favorite bites were the razor clams dish and the cabbage.  Bonus was a visit to the cellar where we spoke with Chef Luka on his prepping process. It is definitely worth the drive from Ljubiljana. The is comfortable communicating in English. Impeccable tasting menu. Almost all ingredients were grown within sight is the dining room. The main dining room has a magnificent view of the surrounding hills and country side. The was hyper attentive and the dishes were very creative and unexpected. We booked a last minute reservation and they were able to meet the dietary restrictions requested (vegetarian with no lactose). Upon reservation you can note any allergies or restrictions and they can accommodate most. We also paired it with a non-alcoholic drink tasting and they were creative ferments that paired very very well with the dishes. 11 courses was a lot of food and so worth it. WOW! This delivered on all counts. Gric is a little way out - a 35 to 40 min drive out of Ljubljana town centre on winding often not lit roads. But the drive is worth it. Cozy, informal but nicely furnished - the ambience is almost like a family dining room albeit with sleek furniture & tables spaced far apart enough that you don’t need to hear the next table. We dined during the food week celebration and a 5 course meal was priced at Euro 60. Great value. The food was divine. The dishes were presented beautifully & Chef Lukas knew how to blend & tease complementary as well as diverse ingredients to give you out of this world taste sensations. Farm to table dining reaches another level at Gric & a visit to their prep rooms was an eye opener (air dried tuna, beef, pork and their pastes, sauces all made in house). & the food is presented & explained beautifully by the staff. Knowledgeable, professional yet fun, the enthusiasm & love for what they do comes right through. Its a worthwhile dining here. Outstanding meal! Grič is a bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. Chef Luka Košir’s 11-course tasting menu starts with bites of trout, farmer’s cheese, oyster mushrooms, and peas, and perhaps you’re getting the drift? Following were tableside smoked shaved cuttlefish, bluefin with favas, slow-cooked beets, duck egg with morels and asparagus, and lobster from the Adriatic with strawberries and chili sauce. Following an intermezzo of fermented rice sorbet served with a house-made kefir, the savories concluded with a fried oyster garnished with caviar and a duck breast with caramelized onion and black currant sauce. Then desserts! The duck dishes, the dairy, the mushrooms, and much of the rest came from Grič’s own basement “laboratory,” their adjacent fields and greenhouses, and producers you could see from the table. Pairings were a range of well-matched Slovenian and French wines, plus a lambic and the aforementioned kefir. Open kitchen invites you to wander in to see the magic. Overall it was a superbly thought-out and expertly executed tour de force. Highly recommended. Fantastic food, service and atmosphere. The was wonderful and explained everything perfectly. The kitchen is beautiful and open to visitors so you can see what is happening, the food is locally sourced, as per the green Michelin star. Wonderful for a decent price, best value for money out of all the 1star places I've been to. We had a set menu with drinks and it came out around €170 per person (I can see that the max price Google offers here is €50+ which is quite low for this restaurant). We had a special occasion dinner at Gric around Christmas time 2024 and had a wonderful experience: the food (ingredients/flavours), the presentation, the service, the venue were all wonderful and the drinks pairing was spot-on (some of us had wine, while others opted for non-alcoholic pairing and none of us was disappointed!). My pictures really don't do much justice to the venue or the food, there are a lot nicer shots which properly reflect the level of quality and attention to detail the team produces. They also offer pescatarian and gluten-free options. Dive into a realm where modern elegance meets culinary brilliance! Slovenia's beloved Michelin star unveils a stunning renovation, blending contemporary design and a breathtaking open kitchen. Witness the art of divine food creation up close. A masterpiece reborn! The starred is undoubtedly a culinary gem that leaves one speechless. I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here last December, and the was simply unforgettable. The 11-course tasting menu was a sensory journey that engaged all my senses. Each dish was presented with mastery and creativity, turning the food into true works of art that spoke for themselves. The elegant, minimalist, and intimate setting made the even more special. The open kitchen allowed us to observe the chef and his at work, adding a touch of charm and authenticity to the meal. Each dish was a surprise, with impeccable flavor combinations and presentations that took my breath away. It was truly a gastronomic of the highest caliber. In conclusion, if you're looking for an extraordinary culinary that will leave you speechless GRIC is the place to visit. A true temple of gastronomy that never disappoints. What an experience. Food out of this world and down to earth staff. The complete package. Made every effort for my wife to have an amazing vegetarian experience. A slow food that earnt every point of that star. Superb. An amazing during week. The quality of food is exceptional and matched by the service level. What comes across is the restaurants passion for their food and their pride in what they are plating.
