Do not attempt it using a conventional car. Outstanding view, unique place for hiking. If you like mountains and you want to combine vacations with some exercise this is the perfect place!! Η πεζοπορία ξεκινώντας από το χωριό χαλίκι με περίπου 15 κιλά σακίδιο ήταν δύσκολη , μας πήρε κάτι λιγότερο από 5 ώρες σε μεγάλο γκρουπ(πολλοι και διαφορετικοι ρυθμοί και αρκετές στάσεις) διανύοντας περίπου 10χλμ . Για έναν έμπειρο αναβάτη με σταθερό ρυθμό πιστεύω θα πάρει περίπου 3-3:30 ώρες . Σημαντικό να ξεκινήσετε νωρίς γιατί τουλάχιστον η μισή διαδρομή είναι σε αλπικό τερέν και ο ήλιος θα σας εξουθενώσει(ειδικότερα το καλοκαίρι) . Στη λίμνη έχει αρκετή υγρασία όποτε θα χρειαστείτε μια καλή σκηνή και ζεστά ρούχα . Η κορυφή είναι περίπου 1 ώρα από τη λίμνη . Η ιδανικότερη επιλογή για κάποιον που δεν θέλει να κουραστεί είναι να ανεβεί με 4χ4 , υπάρχει χωματόδρομος που σε αφήνει πραγματικά έξω από τη λίμνη . Amazing trail, best season to visit should be late Spring so you can see the Alpine Lake(Drakolimni) and the temperature is better. The trail is not hard and the nature is amazing! We went at the end of November:') Must See If you do the trail on foot, be aware of the shepherds dogs. You can reach on top with a car or motorcycle if you like challenges. ‼️BEWARE OF AGGRESSIVE DOGS‼️ The trail, the nature and the lake itself are beautiful. It is very easily accessible, however, during our ascend, we were attacked by a pack of 4 (or perhaps more) dogs, larger size, black-and-white. This had happened about 3 kms before the lake - exact coordinates are 39.6756312, 21.1490867 (or M4GX+7J4). We were not able to finish our ascend due to this. We were both hurt while running away. Προσοχή την άνοιξη έχει πολύ κρύο αφού πέσει ο ήλιος For a 12 km distance since Chaliki village, it took us a full one hour drive by 4x4 to reach Verliga and another 300m walk. The road was tough and even though it was October 26th, the weather was splendid, therefore by driving slowly and carefully, we made it! If the road is not in good condition due to rain or snow, not sure how doable this would have been.. The scenery is absolutely stunning! No words to describe it! Even when the lake is dry, there is a shallow river zigzagging through this plateau surrounded by mountains. Nature at its best! Great Place !
