Very few signs on the trail made us to loose our way back. We got lost and had to go on unsigned paths. It was frightening and dangerous. Amazing view of the mountain. The rooms are spacious but the only unexpected thing was the shortage of warm water in the shower. I mean it is normal for a refuge, but if you have to do with this type of which is above and beyond your expectations, you would say warm water comes together with the whole thing. Turns out that no. Highly recommended! I didn’t appreciate the communication with the person running the refuge. At first they said they are closed then that they are fully booked. I went there to check and witnessed some nasty / dodgy stuff. Have a look at the horrible installation they placed in a virgin mountain. It seems there has been an abuse of funds and the didnt feel that its in the spirit of hikers and nature lovers. Its a shame as this is a really awesome place and deserves respect. We had an amazing week working remotely and recharging at the same time. Felt very welcomed by Polla and Babis. A big thank you, we will be back :-) We had the best stay! We hope to come back one day! We had the most wonderful time here. We camped between the trees as Bello, the Refuge’s guard dog, protected us during the night 😉 Four hikes start here and there is a board with information about them. The shower and toilet were a bit Spartan, but we didn’t mind because the common area was so cozy. Right next to it you have a small infinity pool for a cold plunge with amazing views on the mountains! I really recommend having dinner too, if you tell Polla a day in advance she will prepare the most delicious home cooked meal for you. Polla and her family are wonderful people and made us feel very welcome. 🙏❤️ Bad experience, they did not serve food to hikers, only toast.
