Μουσείο Ελληνικής Ιστορίας Παύλου Βρέλλη
Ioannina, Greece Museum
One of the Best Places To Visits in Νέο Μπιζάνι A highly recommended museum that offers a unique and engaging way to experience Greek history. The detailed wax figures and atmospheric setting create a memorable visit, though those sensitive to graphic depictions should be aware of the content. No photography or videos are allowed inside. The museum is open from 10 AM to 4 PM. Consider visiting during off-peak hours to avoid crowds and allow for a more intimate experience. The museum accepts POS payments. The wax statues are so detailed you feel they are alive. Attention is paid to every detail, even weed growing between stones! All Greek history live in front of ours eyes. One man’s passion for Greece turned into something amazing. You will feel awe and inspiration alongside with admiration for the vision and the creation of the artist Frequently mentioned in reviews: Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. A beautiful museum, with really well-made wax representations of people and from greek history. Worth the visit, but I would prefer it if there was more information on the context and of the and people depicted, so that the visitors would learn more about what they are seeing. The staff is nice and helpful. One of the most beautiful museums - the wax statues are so detailed you feel they are alive.set in different periods they show of the most significant events in the Greek history. The building inside is cleverly designed - you go through dark corridors and see the statues behind windows in various scenes. The last part is the artist's selection of various events . No photos or videos are allowed. Don't miss it! Top recommendation for historical lovers it is a MUST visit for families kids and adults Very informative tour and guide. He really knew a lot of facts to tell us about everything and every period shown in the museum. And even knew some historical facts about the First World War in Greece. I really learned a lot from him about Greek which I didn't knew yet. It's definitely worth your while. The surroundings are like you're in a cave. Attention is paid to every detail, even weed growing between stones! Such an interesting place to visit , when you are in Ioannina town. A that depicts the truth in-real-life max sculptures of some important moments of Greek history. The landscape its nice, the is well placed a few kilometers away from the town center. Everything look so real , i will add the note of being a bit cringe. Amazing peace of art !! Open hours from 10 a.m till 4 p.m Excellent display of local Greek history. Tour guides were very good with English translation. The personages seems not so "real" and if you are "claustrophobic " its not a good idea to go here you are in the dark and it's cold and some personages move her eyes to look at you ... you don't feel so relax and you can not take photography and if you take the security gonna follow you on your back until the end like you have killed someone or like you have do the one abominable think it's stupid and crazy because in England you have the same thing and better with all the cinema star and you can take photos and touch the personages and it's seems more real it's stupid ! Very nice. Guided tour. Takes POS. Cannot take photos or videos inside but all is on the website. One man’s passion for Greece turned into something amazing. Some of them look so real. This is a MUST for anyone visiting the area of Epirus! Do not miss to make this stop at a place made by the hand of an artist! The entire structure with the stone corridors and the wax sculptures is a unique resemblance of the Greek 19th and early 20th century! You will feel awe and inspiration alongside with admiration for the vision and the creation of the artist … DO NOT MISS IT !!! PS. No photos provided because this is forbidden but you may find plenty in the url It was an unforgettable experience that anyone interested in Greek but also in art should visit this museum. I believe that the artist was and still is far ahead of his time in the way he expresses his art. Fancinating place, story and depictions of Greek history. There is a video inside the door next to the entrance which is well worth watching firstly. We where very disappointed by the tour. There is no information about what the depicted beyond names and dates. Our guide when asked for information, said it was available online (no cell reception inside). She did inform us when asked directly for information which was very helpful to create a defined reflection of the history. We suggested a couple lines of information added to each window, as well as guides historical input. Thank you. Exceptional ! If you have any doubts about visiting or not, just do it. Verli has done an impressive job that words cannot describe enough. When I visit Ioannina I will make sure to go by the musseum again Breathtaking! And to imagine that ALL of the sculptures even the walls are crafted from one single artist. He even made a sculpture of himself , it's the last one of the exhibition. My absolute favourite was the one that depicted the scene of Ali Pasas murder. The place was beautiful, it had a lot of rooms to explore about Greek history! Though I wouldn't recommend to people with mental diseases, and small children because of gruesome scenes. All Greek live in front of ours eyes. A great from a man who dedicated all his life to finish it. Highly recommend!
