We visited Herrings Green Activity & Bird of Centre as a family and had a really nice day. Our son especially enjoyed the bird of displays – getting to hold an owl was definitely a highlight for him. The were and made the interesting without overloading it with too much information. There were lots of animals around the farm, and the environment felt relaxed and friendly. One of the moments we’ll remember most was when my wife got to feed the alpacas – it was something she had always wanted to do, and it definitely made her day. The is well set up for families, with various play areas and activities for kids. Everything was clean and easy to navigate, and there were plenty of spots to sit or grab a snack. Overall, it was a pleasant day out – a mix of fun, learning, and spent outdoors. We’d recommend it to anyone looking for a calm, animal-filled day with the family. Arrived a bit late so missed the activities and shows but still an excellent place, loads of fabulous eagles, owls and falcons as well as animals. We were lucky enough to see some gorgeous lambs. Shop and cafe close at 4pm but you can stay looking round until 5pm. Herons Green Falconry Centre offers a truly unique and memorable experience. The setting is beautiful, and the of are simply stunning. The were warm, knowledgeable, and passionate, making sure everyone felt involved and well looked after. Being up close with these magnificent was incredible, and the hands-on experiences made the day even more special. Highly recommended for anyone seeking an exciting and educational day with nature! Absolutely fantastic day out. Got the deal through virgin experiences and had an amazing day. The lady Lisa was so informative and clearly had a huge love for all the birds. Going to book to go back I booked the 3 hour falconry for my dad, partner and child. They said it was absolutely brilliant and completely exceeded expectations. We were worried that 3 hours was too long and that the rain would ruin the morning, but they said it was jam packed, the group was lead by Laura who was great, there were sooo many amazing that each member of the group got an opportunity to hold, they watched a and learned a lot. The rain didn't put them off at all and everyone left very happy. On a different note, my partner said the coffee in the coffee shop was the worst he had ever tasted in his life! I did have a look and opted to go into Bedford instead to have a coffee and wait for them to finish. I guess the facilities could be better but that's not what they were there for. My partner and I had a wonderful here for a falconry experience. The host Jake was so friendly and informative and made sure that everyone got a chance to holding the of prey! Would definitely recommend:-) A for both my 9 year old grandson and myself. The were very an friendly I really liked the place. Tension with parking. There is a picnic area, playgrounds. Take a look at the schedule on the website. My 2nd booking a 90 min 1 on 1 while visiting from the USA. I’d give them 10 stars if I could. Ask for Laura - who I’ve dubbed as Master of the Feather. Extremely and tailors the to your liking. deal for the price. The whole day from start to finish was an amazing experience. We visited at Herrings Green at Bedfordshire and stayed the night before at the premier in at St Neots. We found the easily, it was an idyllic location. They had loads of of my personal favourite being the bard owl. The were well looked after and they even had some breading pairs. We came up close and personal with many different birds, watched a fantastic and then spent on the rest of the with the sheep, donkeys, pony's and Lamas. We had food in the tea rooms on the that was fresh and delicious. All in all highly recommended and a day. Incredible for all the family, especially with days added on. value for money with very handlers and food too. Shows are often enough to keep the day busy but you still have to look around at the huge range of and other animals. Absolutely love this place. We've been here a few times now and every I come away with some new nugget of information I never knew about the wonderful they have there. All the clearly love what they do, and what they do is so important not just for the but for educating the people that visit. The centre has a wide range of of and a flying exhibition. Small people can also hold an owl, which is quite special. The rest of the facilities are looking rather tired - for example there were lots of nettles growing round the kids activity area. It’s not too expensive so, on balance, a half day out for the family. Had a wonderful afternoon at Herrings Green where the falconers gave us a fascinating insight into the various of prey. It was to be able to get up close to these magnificent and see them in their full glory just perched on your hand. The flying displays were although you do have to keep an eye on the, sometimes, very low flying birds!! All the falconers showed their love and understanding of these and were very interesting in imparting their knowledge of them. day out for the kids, activities are well organised. Not a lot there really bird show wasn't anything last about 15 minutes. If you go make sure you wear your boots because there is plenty of mud . On the positive side -The woman that did the was fantastic. She really knew her stuff, she answered everyone’s questions and was entertaining. - Lots of amazing beautiful when we walked around in cages and used in the display. - They released lot of at a to music which was really to see so many flying at the same time. On the negative side - The receptionist was rude to all 4 of us when we arrived. She was clearly annoyed she had given us 4 stickers before our 2 other friends had arrived, like we’d deceived her for some reason ! She also denied telling us to wait in the field as the had started elsewhere. We all very negative about the place before we’d even started. - The group was far too big. We were in a group of 28 people so when the were being passed around we waited for ages before we could hold the birds. Also taking part in the displays took ages to include everyone. So became very boring which was a shame because the was otherwise. Overall, quality but needs to be smaller groups 1/2 the time, and better reception. No complaints, maybe the cafe could be a bit better but honestly, even that's great. Husband booked the Kite and Eagle and wow, what an it was!! Riley was our falconer for the afternoon and he was incredible. So very and clearly passionate about the birds. Every interaction was breathtaking. I would go back many more times. Thank you so very much! Went to a falconry day today had such a our instructor was super about all the and we learnt lots of new interesting facts about the bird. Felt very safe whilst holding all the birds. Only thing I would say is it took a little while to pass each bird around everyone. It could have done with being a slightly smaller group as it was sometimes hard to hear what the instructor was saying when he was on the other side of the circle. However would definitely recommend another thing checked off the bucket list. 👍 Quite a litte day out l, it was very hot when we went so couldn't enjoy the flying as no shade for children. but we found some lovely shade with a small playground and could look at the and turkeys running freely . The kids enjoyed it . The were friendly . Food was yummy in the cafe. The 5 min charge on card was annoying as I only had a small amount on my card left and no cash. We came on Saturday with our little boy and a friend with his little boy, we absolutely loved it such a wonderful lots of different animals and bird to see also play areas for the kids. We loved the shows and the pat a pet, would definitely recommend fir a family day out. we've just booked our son's 7th birthday here he loved it so much thank you ☺️ Wow wow wow , we have just been for an owl evening experience… there were 5 members off and 120 guests. We ALL had BBQ , Owl flying, Handling and a off the birds. It was AMAZING we travelled 2 hours for this evening and it was worth every minute. It was a brilliant price and the were down to earth, patient, friendly and Professional . We will be back very soon to see you and to explore the rest off your animals … Thank you xx We had 3 hours today in Colchester at the kings arms with some of the amazing birds, it was to be able to hold the and learn so much about them, the keeper was amazing and she did an amazing job, she was funny, informative and basically just lovely x thank you for a lovely afternoon getting to know your x Sarah & Claire x we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves Just back from an epic day at the Herring Green farm. My family and I had booked my husband an eagle which I would highly recommend. The falconer Erin was fantastical she took to show us so many of the eagle and some eagle owls. My husband held and flew the massive beautiful and really enjoyed his experience. We had young children with us and there was lots to play on and keep them amused. All were very welcoming and friendly We went on a Sunday and it was very quiet which was perfect for us to look around. Booked for partner the eagle experience, what a fab experience, even though I was a spectator we both loved the and Carly was very host and full knowledge about the , she made us feel safe and step by step made us feel this , we will definitely be telling people about our day and if they would like and this is the place to go thank you for making it special Larrain and Nic Was a fantastic photography experience. Falconer karly couldn't do enough for us. The range of was excellent. A special with the of prey. Carly was excellent and ensured everyone had equal with each bird even though there were quite a few in the group. Definitely recommend .
