Great atmosphere for the exciting game against Sheffield. Reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. Recently saw an MK Lightning Match, venue is good with plenty of seating and standing areas. 👍🏟️ There is drinks and food available. 🍻🍔 The staff were also friendly and helpful 😊👏 I’ve had a great experience coming to the Planet Ice MK. I booked a 6-week beginner course online on their website. Each week on a Saturday, I would attend a 30 min group session with our Coach Gemma. She was lovely, she went through many moves and skills with us and took to help those that were struggling. She was patient and gave great advice and encouragement, I really appreciate her guidance. This was my first taking ice lessons and going on my own. It is daunting learning something new when you’re older, but I really thoroughly enjoyed the lessons and my experience here. I would encourage others to try also. The ice rink is big and there are plenty of spaces to sit on the bleachers if you’re not skating. You can hire the skates and also the penguin/polar bear - if you’re not confident going around - these can be used for adults or children. There are spaces outside the ice rink - the ones directly outside are £2.40 per hour. Would highly recommend, I loved here! All the staff are friendly and helpful. Would definitely come again with friends and family next time. Thanks again. You get given plenty of for your slot. The prices are very reasonable. We had an amazing time. The staff are super friendly. They even helped us to organise a taxi back to our hotel. My son had a party here recently and whilst he really enjoyed it and the party host was good, he did not receive the free 6 week learn to skate sessions and each child did not receive one free skate voucher as the advertisement suggests! Rather disappointing. I arrived at Planet Ice one evening to collect my girls from public skate to find a chaotic situation outside the building with cars on verges and double yellow lines due to other parents in the same situation with seemingly nowhere to park. With it being dark and not wanting my girls to be walking alone in this area at night, I found a free space adjacent the building and waited for less than 10 minutes before collecting my girls and leaving, in the assumption that is free after 6pm, which is the case for most of Central Milton Keynes. I subsequently received a Charge Notice for £60 from Premier who operate in the area. I appealed this charge and was astonished to see their immediate rejection, the reason given that ‘no fee was paid’. I decided to speak to Planet Ice to see if they had any kind of relationship with Premier Parking, but the staff on Reception all had the ‘parking is nothing to do with us’ line well-rehearsed, which was re-iterated by the General Manager. The relationship with handling money from the ticket machines however seems to be altogether cosier as Premier have somehow managed to persuade Planet Ice staff to empty their machines for them. This seems a rather one-sided affair because in exchange for the favour, Premier hand out as many fines as they can to un-suspecting motorists who then trash Planet Ice’s reputation through bad reviews. I refused to pay this ridiculous fine and was chased, bullied and threatened for over a year, whilst the amount they were demanding rose to £225, a figure that they seem to be able to just make up as they go along. In the meantime, I gathered evidence to support my case, including signage hanging in disrepair, the fact that there is no mention of times for which the restrictions are effective or what the grace period is, and I built a map of that is free after 6PM in the area. I was looking forward to presenting my case in court, but just before the hearing I received a letter from Premier Parking’s solicitors to say that they were dropping the charge. Make of this what you will, but the situation could have been prevented right at the start of this process by simply requesting that I pay a fair amount for the 10 mins that I was parked. I now know never to use any outside Planet Ice ever again. The reason that this review has been negatively aimed at Planet Ice is because they are complicit in helping these sharks operate and if they really cared about their reviews, of which there are many along the same theme, they would do something about it. Avoid Planet Ice – Unfair Charges! I visited Planet Ice, and while the experience inside was fine, the situation completely ruined it. I paid for when I arrived, as I was instructed to do, but a few weeks later received a fine. I appealed this and heard nothing more until a year later when I received a demand for £170 from their company! This is incredibly frustrating and unfair. I followed all the rules, made sure to pay for parking, and now I’m dealing with an unjust demand for an outrageous amount of money. It’s clear that the company is either making mistakes or attempting to scam customers. I tried reaching out to Planet Ice to explain the situation, but they didn’t seem to care at all. This kind of poor customer service and shady practices leave a bad taste, and I will not be returning. Beware if you plan on visiting – keep your receipts, because this place might end up costing you a lot more than you expect. We came to planet ice during the Christmas holidays.. and what an absolute shambles it was. We was due to have food between 2.30-3.40 my boys were hungry so they came Off the ice early to get their food.. we order two kids meals and a hotdog.. the hotdog came out within 5 minutes but the kids meals Where nowhere to be seen. We waited for 30 Minutes and asked where our food was to be told 2 minutes.. other family’s had ordered and received food in the we was waiting.. we ended up waiting an hour and 35 minutes still receiving NO food.. whilst they had fed 5/6 other families as well as colleagues.. when speaking to the manager he didn’t care at all.. he asked if I wanted them to start cooking it there and then.. when we had been waiting over an hour and a half at this point! Absolutely awful customer service.. the place was packed and they only had one person in the kitchen that clearly WASNT COPING!!
