The castle with an interesting architecture needs renovation, but the trees and flowers are so wonderful. With a little bit of vision and a few euros one could do so much more out of this antique castle-like building and the park around it... It is just depressing seeing it forgotten and decaying day by day a little more... Arcalia is one of the best things that kept happening in my life. I visited the castle 3 times over the past 2 years, and every time the experience is different. The castle itself is really nice, but it's in a bad state, but this year the renovation will start. The park is beautiful with lots of different species of plants from allover the world. You can find there lots of birds, we did a birdwatching last time, and it was great. There are also some dears that adventure outside the forest. And some bats. You can stay for some days if you want, it's quite cheep, but not all rooms have bathrooms. All in all, it's a small haven on earth A beautiful castel and 27 hectar dendrological park, is a must see when in Arcalia, county of Bistrita. Castle is nicely renovated on the outside, but unfortunately the inside cannot be visited. The renovations are still ongoing with the other building, so here's hoping that the inside will also be ready at some point. However it's definitely worth the visit, as you can also walk around their arboretum in a relaxing landscape. There is ample parking space across their main gate, and the entrance is free. Keep in mind that the castle and its park belong to the University, so you'll mostly encounter the security guard or the staff managing the place, but not a tourist guide or tourist information. This is not a typical visiting site as it's mostly used for studies. Perfect! Beautiful place to spend a day and walk in the garden. The castle need more attention to renovation. The costumer service is very poor here and the people aren’t friendly at all.
