The resident guide was so genuinely interested in art and in this place that make us falling in love with this place. Came early in the day (right before opening) and was completely on our own the whole walk through, even though being high season of the region (August). I have seen it from far way (you can see it while driving in the hill mountains, sticks out like a sore thumb), and I was kind of curious about it's history. Of course, when we came the place was closed. But walking around the place via the tranquil trail, and observing the local homes was really nice and pleasant. Also, the from up high is quite spectacular. No wonder this place was a military fortress. So neat. ABSOLUTELY MARVELLOUS !!!... ye can't miss it ! tis a fantastic medieval castle, perfectly and carefully restored. what makes the little tour pretty interesting, is surely the structure itself, the archeological finds exposed inside and the lovely recreation of some of the medieval interiors , which enrich the specific rooms you visit along the tour . the from the upper tower and the different terraces is a masterpiece !! all the hillside snd the entire cost line ... incredible the Staff are definitively gentle, well prepared to support you on the knowledge of the history , thanks a million lads!! was in ruins but it is reconstructed very well. The trash from many centuries was able to tell us the story of it's inhabitants, and also an authentic on site exhibition. The lady giving the guided tour is very well prepared, interesting and accurate history. Not the mystery tour i feared from some other descriptions. Really nice you must visit it.. From the top u can watch the old city Amazing place! Must visit if you like medieval culture and history. The is very well restored, the from the rooftop is the best panoramic of all Riviera Romagnola. Especially I suggest you to visit it during the October-November, because the nature creates amazing frame for this beauty. Plus to all there are 2 ghosts who live in the walls of the rock and it was proved by paranormal specialist. This was a most pleasant surprise on out trip. Very interesting.
