Update: I am changing my 5 star rating to 4 stars. The quality of the food is still great, but it used to be a bit higher. But the main reason is the prices because this place has become very overpriced. My original review: Excellent food and service. Very cozy atmosphere. The prices went higher now but in my opinion they still deserve a five star rating. We like this place for the atmosphere and the quality of food. We have been coming here for the last 10 years maybe and always been satisfied. It is an old fashioned place but this is all the beauty of the Hungarian cuisine. The outside sitting in summer is very and the grilled meat on barbecue is perfect. We had dinner at this restaurant, 3 nights out of 4 we spant in the area. Service was outstanding with very friendly staff and all the food we tried (~15+ amongst 5 of us) tasted excellent. We never felt rushed even when we're the last guests and the restaurant was locked already. If you're in the area, it's a must try. Surprisingly pleasant experience close to Bratislava. Good atmosphere, attentive staff, really god food. Live magyar music (still pleasant and not too pushy). St home feeling, everybody speaks Slovak here too. Only minis - cash only payments. Very spartan and ourdated rooms, staff not very friendly and welcoming. Gorgeous location at the banks of the Danube. Breakfast was... Basic and not served at the agreed upon time. On my way back home we stayed at this beautiful location! The surrounding and the place itself it is very and cozy with plenty of space! The room that we stayed in was small , smelling of food and we had a constant noise from the outside heater/AC/ kitchen! The food was mediocre for a Hungarian restaurant! And the service was very blunt. Probably at one point was a very place to be! Very location , surroundings , terrible food. We ordered fish and duck for a dinner. Duck was most likely prepared 2 days back - dry , cold , you can feel tase of fridge and sourness from being old. Potatoes that came with it were so salty they cannot be eaten. Fish - better than duck but also prepared at least 6 hours back as it was very dry as well and you can tell it was just heated up , potates that came with a fish were ok. Now this 2 horrible pieces of food with 1 wine and 2 mineral wates costed us 70 eur. Probably the worst spend money on the food ever. I regret I did even pay for that insult they called food. Such a place ruined by such a terrible food. Location is amazing, food quality is good but not more than average in some cases poor. Staff little bit cheesy. And here we - prices. I mean we had lunch for 4 persons, no deserts just beers and lemonades, both poor and overpriced and we payed 180 eur. I mean you should consider if it is really worth it. Won't come back any soon Absolutely amazing kitchen! Maybe the best food I ever had! Very staff, big and beautiful restaurant, amazing terrace on the water. The only really big downside - they don't accept credit cards. There is an ATM machine on the premises, but still, if you are not from Hungary and don't have local cash on you, be ready to have to use the ATM. Otherwise would have given 5 stars.
