Bar Er Beti

Cádiz, Spain Tapas bar

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Established since 1959. Hard to find a table at weekends. So we sat opposite at the Irish bar and took our drinks over when a table was free. Good food. Very popular bar , with very efficient service. Fills up very quickly on the outside tables & then people start queuing waiting for a spot . Probably not as good as the hype , but a decent bar . I only put 5 stars because there aren’t any more.If I could, I would put more. The service was brilliant, but what really crossed the line was the meatballs. They were tasty and they came quickly. But what I loved the most was that strong, homemade sauce that really stood out, completely drowning me in a wave of flavour. As you can see in the photo below, the meatballs were drenched in that delicious sauce. In fact, I loved the meatballs so much that I needed to get more of that richness deep inside them.So I ordered the whole package of meatballs and took them home.Place was packed with locals. We will definitely return. Tapas! Fish was phenomenal. The service was speedy and efficient! Expect this place to be packed in the evenings and you might have a hard time finding a place to sit or even stand. Great one! Has been one of the most typical spots in El Puerto forever and ever even despite of its so central location - which initially you would think isn’t a good match with good food quality. Fresh food and meat, well elaborated dishes and such friendly staff. Definitely one of my favs in el Puerto! You are only allowed 1 tapas per table. The rest you have to order half or full plates. The meatballs were bland and the sauce a plain pasata. The other 2 dishes were disappointing as well. Very good Place for lunch & tapeo. Solomillo al jerez is a must. Great food and service from friendly waiters/waitresses with no patronising or grumpy service you can sometimes get in Spain as a tourist. Meatballs and fish goujons were fantastic and lovely Rose wine. We had plenty of food and two glasses of wine and water for around €45. Would come back again.
