Château de Valmer - Vins et Jardins

Tours, France Castle

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Lovely gardens and grounds a gentle stroll around is very pleasant. The self guide tours is very easy to follow and informative . Wine tasting at the end of the tour is acailable Beautiful chateau with edible flowers, an old chapel, a little maze at the top and wine tasting at the end. Dogs are allowed on short leads too. We got a good explanation about wine growing and making and left with twelve bottles of grape juice (red and white) and six bottles of fizzy rose. Excellent Gardens and great wine tasting. Beautiful gardens of a former chateau (burnt down in 1948 but some of the buildings remain). We were given a helpful leaflet in English to help us explore (this is an RHS partner garden). I found the large kitchen garden particularly impressive. At the end we tasted a couple of the estate’s wines and enjoyed enough to buy a couple of cases! Well worth a detour. Note: dogs are permitted on short leads but no water bowls or dog bins provided. Incredible Chateau!! We got to try tasting flowers in their massive garden the tasted amazing wines. Very nice and helpful staff, I ended up with multiple bottles to take home plus bought seeds for my own attempt to mirror their garden. Excellent gardens kept really well. Wine tasting after the walk was very good came away with several bottles Beautiful informal Chateau gardens where you're invited to smell, taste and touch the vegetables and fruit. Not to mention the wine! Thoroughly recommend a visit!! A wonderful garden to explore. Never too busy with helpful gardening staff.
