He said he is the son and 23rd generation n still family owned. The chardonnay du pin was very good. Double gold. We purchased a few bottles. He let us walk into his big cave cellar. The oldest winery in the region. Pleasent stop with lots of to sample. One of the best tastings we’ve ever had! Louis was incredibly welcoming—he showed us the cellar and then offered a guided tasting. He explained each with passion and made us feel right at home. Definitely a must-visit, and it’s very close to Château d’Amboise if you’re driving 😉 Might be the best winnery I've ever been in. You can go by yourself to a in the vineyards. The vineyards are simply amazing. Its huge and beautiful. After that we got a guided at the caves and our guide woman gave us plenty of explanation on the producing process and on the history of the place. At the end we got FREE and the was fantastic. Specially the cabernet franc and the dry rose. We also get to buy in a great price. We bought 2 bottels for 14 euro. Stopped by for a quick of the cave, guided by a younger member of the making family. She was very professional and helpful. The site is not big but gave good overview of the cave and the process. There is a path up the hill behind the winery leading up to the actual vineyards. Quite steep so mind the step but a wonderful place to get up to. Well worth a visit. We calling in based on positive reviews without a booking and enjoyed a of the wines. The staff were friendly and spoke English well. The wines were great value of money. Only wish we had more time to enjoy the vineyards and have a tour. Would happily recommend and we hope to find ourselves back in the area for another visit. Louis was absolutely fabulous! Such an incredible vibe! The cellars and vineyards were amazing to explore and the was just unforgettable. Highly recommend! Brilliant and experience with Shannon, who was so very welcoming and knowledgeable about the making process and the itself. We really enjoyed all the wine, but were especially impressed by PLOU’s unique Malbec, branded under Côt, an original French name of the grape, and the Heritage Chenin with its beautiful mineral finish. The was also very reasonably priced - we are so glad we got some of it with us! Another amazing and unique thing about this place is that you can get a self-guided through the beautiful vineyard (our little dog enjoyed it too). No reservation was necessary for the and tasting, at least in the middle of September. Affordable, traditional, and happy are the first three things I think about Plou and Sons… We had the nicest visit with Mr. Plou, he treated us to a of a variety of wines with the nicest touch. We ended up buying some of the heritage wines. Aged in new oak barrels, and simply delicious. Had such a time here. Visitied on a Monday and had a free and then a walk around the vineyard (with a complimentary glass of in hand). Had such a nice time we went back again at the end of our week in the Loire to stock up before we went home. staff, wine. One of the undoubted highlights of our holiday. We called in and asked if we could look around the cellars and was treated to a wonderful guided by Shannon who was so knowledgeable and passionate and a bonus that she spoke impeccable English for us too and answered our many questions in depth. It was so interesting to learn about the rules of the appellation as well as the process itself. We were treated to a of the wines and even grape juice for the grandchildren. We bought a selection of red, white and sparkling all at reasonable prices and are going back for more before we leave! We were also kindly shown where to picnic in the vineyard, as due to mobility issues we were not able to take advantage of the self guided tour, and enjoyed a chilled bottle with our baguettes, so idyllic! Such lovely, kind and welcoming owners and staff, thank you so much.
