Skip if you need amenities or expect beach swimming without cold-water tolerance — Lake Superior runs cold all summer. Road closes to vehicles during certain hours for bikes and pedestrians — plan your drive loop timing accordingly. Dogs must stay in vehicles. Wear sturdy shoes for Black Rocks; terrain is rough. Arrive at sunrise (park opens 7 AM) or stay for sunset at Sunset Point.
